Professor Leona Doyle

Professor Leona Doyle is a Consultant Histopathologist at St.Vincent’s University Hospital where she is the Sarcoma Pathology Lead, and Full Academic Professor at University College Dublin. Professor Doyle spent 15 years working at Brigham and Women’s Hospital/Dana Farber Cancer Institute in Boston, which is one of the largest centres for sarcoma in the U.S,, and was Associate Professor at Harvard Medical School prior to her recent return to Ireland.

She is involved in writing the WHO Classification of Tumours “blue books”, the ICCR Reporting Datasets for Sarcoma, and was a co-author of the TCGA Sarcoma project. Her research interests include refining classification of tumours, prognostication, and the development of novel diagnostic assays.
