Prof Oscar Breathnach

Prof. Breathnach graduated from UCD in 1991, underwent specialist oncology training at St. Vincent’s Hospital and subsequently at the National Cancer Institute, USA.

He has worked as a Consultant Medical Oncologist at the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute (Boston, USA), Cork University Hospital-Mercy University Hospital-Kerry University Hospital (Southern Health Board) and most recently Beaumont Hospital (ongoing).

He is Chair of the Implementation Board of the National Cancer Information System (NCIS).
His interests focus on information technology, geriatric oncology, glioblastoma and medico-legal aspects of capacity-consent in the ever-expanding area of systemic therapy.
