Dr Ronan McLaughlin

Dr. Ronan McLaughlin is a Medical Oncology Clinical Research Fellow at the Princess Margaret Cancer Centre, Toronto. He is the co-Chief Fellow in the Division of Haematology and Medical Oncology at the University Health Network, and the Jeff Brook Family Fellow in Pancreatic Cancer Research at the Wallace McCain Centre for Pancreatic Cancer. He is undertaking a second sub-speciality interest fellowship in Neuro-Oncology at the Pencer Brain Tumor Centre at The Princess Margaret Cancer Centre.

Dr. McLaughlin was awarded his Medical Degree from Queens University Belfast in 2014, completing his basic medical training within the NHS in Northern Ireland and was awarded membership of the Royal College of Physicians of London (UK) in 2017.

He completed the Higher Specialist Training in Medical Oncology from the Royal College of Physicians in Ireland 2020-2024 and was awarded a CSCST from the Institute of Medicine.
He is a former awardee of the Irish Society of Medical Oncology (ISMO) travel bursaries and the RCSI, Beaumont Hospital Cancer Clinical Trials Unit Education Bursary.

He has been awarded an American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO) Merit award and an European Society of Medical Oncology (ESMO) Young Investigator Merit Award/Travel Scholarship.
Dr McLaughlin has also been awarded a Novartis Oncology Young Canadian Investigator Award for his research in biomarker development in pancreatic cancer and a Hold’em for Life Oncology Fellowship Grant Award from the University of Toronto for his research in the role of the gut microbiome in gastroesophageal cancer
