Dr David McMahon
David is an Irish-trained Medical Oncologist, completing his training in medical oncology in 2024, with speciality interest in thoracic malignancies, neuro-oncology and skin cancers. He graduated with honours from the Royal College of Surgeons in undergraduate medicine in 2015 and has an MSc in Leadership in Healthcare from University College Cork.
He has extensive experience medical oncology with numerous publications, presentations, research grants and awards.
David started a fellowship in targeted therapy and immunooncology with the Renal, Melanoma and Lung units at the Royal Marsden Hospital, London under the mentorship of the Professor Sanjay Popat and Professor James Larkin in September 2023, focussing purely on thoracic malignancies from September 2024
David has a particular interest in resistance mechanisms to targeted anticancer treatments and immunotherapy. He also has an interest in both primary and secondary brain tumours, and has multiple ongoing research projects in collaboration with the neuro-oncology group at the Royal Marsden Hospital
