Dr Albiruni Razak

Dr. Abdul Razak is an Associate Professor within the Division of Medicine at the University of Toronto. He holds appointment as Staff Medical Oncologist at Mount Sinai Hospital and the Princess Margaret Cancer Centre, Toronto. He also leads the Medical Oncology Sarcoma Program at both institutions.

Dr Razak underwent medical and oncology training in Ireland, England as well as Canada. He was the recipient several international and national awards, to include the Young Investigator from the American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO), Canadian Clinical Trials Group (CCTG) and the University of Toronto. Additionally, he was also the inaugural recipient of the Mick Knighton Award from the British Lung Foundation as well as the Sarcoma Cancer Foundation of Canada Fellowship.
Dr Abdul Razak sits on several editorial boards including Journal of Clinical Oncology and UpToDate . He is also the section editor of JCO Oncology Advances.

Dr Abdul Razak’s main interest is new drug development, especially in the field of sarcoma. He has had integral roles within the development of several compounds from Phase 1 to Phase 3/registration for sarcoma in the last 10 years.
He has also taken a role to mentor and train the next generation of sarcoma oncologists, with fellows from Australia, Brazil, Canada, Chile, Hong Kong, Ireland, Italy, Jordan, Mexico, Nigeria, Russia, Saudi Arabia and Yemen.
