Bríd O’ Riordan

Bríd O’ Riordan is a Cancer Survivorship Clinical Nurse Specialist currently working in St James’s Hospital, Dublin. She provides specialised survivorship care to patients with prostate and breast cancer and is leading two hospital nurse-led survivorship initiatives: INSPIRE, a dedicated nurse-led survivorship clinic for advanced prostate cancer patients and Ireland’s first patient initiated self-management open access programme for individuals with early breast cancer.

She graduated with a BSc in General Nursing from University College Cork (UCC) and completed clinical training at the Mery University Hospital, Cork. She most recently completed a Postgraduate Diploma in Cancer Survivorship at Trinity College Dublin (TCD).

Her professional experience spans from both clinical and research settings including roles as a research nurse with UCC/CUH Cancer Trials Group. Having worked extensively in oncology in Ireland, she also gained valuable international experience in the UK and in Riyadh Saudi Arabia working as an oncology nurse and assistant head nurse. She also has experience working in Cork Arc House Cancer Support Centre as an oncology support nurse, providing care and guidance to cancer patients and their families.
