Aileen O’Meara

I am an Oncology nurse working in medical oncology for over 25 yrs. As part of my current role as an Advanced Nurse Practitioner I currently run an Immunotherapy Review Clinic for patients receiving immunotherapy and a nurse led follow up / survivorship clinic  for patient previously diagnosed with breast ca and melanoma. I also work as an independent practitioner in medical oncology outpatient clinics.

I am involved in nurse and patient immunotherapy education, including lecturing on immunotherapy in the Oncology Higher Diploma (HDip) programme in University College Dublin, EONS Immunotherapy Symposia 2019 & 2020 and various nurse educational study days nationally. I am currently the chairperson of the Irish Nurses Immunotherapy Forum which has been established to promote nurse and patient education on immunotherapy in Ireland.

My main academic achievements to date in oncology include:

• BNS Module Degree
• HDip in Oncology Nursing
• Certification in Nursing Prescription of Medication
