Dr Tim Asmis

Dr. Asmis is a Medical Oncologist at The Ottawa Hospital Cancer Centre as well as an Associate Professor and Director of the Medical Oncology Fellowship Program in the Department of Medicine at the University of Ottawa.

He obtained his MD at the University of Ottawa and completed his postgraduate training in Internal Medicine and Medical Oncology at the University of Ottawa. Following his postgraduate training, he pursued a fellowship in Gastrointestinal Oncology at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in New York City.

As the lead of the Ottawa Gastrointestinal Oncology Disease Site Group, he oversees care provided to patients with gastrointestinal cancers at the Ottawa Hospital. He has also led the development of clinical guidelines for patient care with Cancer Care Ontario. In addition, Dr. Asmis is currently the Vice-President of the Ottawa Hospital Medical Staff Association and a Board Member of the Ottawa Hospital. He is an active member of Canadian Clinical Trials Group, Canadian Association of Medical Oncology, ASCO and ESMO.
